„You are wrong!“ and better ways to share your view

Imagine someone approaches you with an idea and before they even finished, your intuition says it's not workable (or even dumb).

Responding with "This will never work! Forget it!" may be factually correct, but there are better ways to express this that do not feel like a smack in the face.

Why is it not such a good idea to finetune such delivery?

The statement is a damning judgment.

It conveys somewhat that "I know the truth here and you don't." Depending on who you talk to, this may be enough to trigger violent backlash.

In this podcast episode, I will share 4 ways how to do this differently and keep the conversation productive.

If you follow them, you still get the message across AND you are less likely to trigger someone.

Stay with yourself. Don't talk like you know 'the truth' about someone.

Accept the other person's view as their reality, even if you disagree.

Find out what makes something true for the other person.

Learn to differentiate what is your strong opinion and what is fact.
