EP 79 : BEWARE – Coaching in companies is NOT Life Coaching
Coaching dynamics shift when individual vs. corporate client pays. Delve into complexities: differing stakeholders and dynamics in sponsored coaching.

Shownotes
Coaching someone who pays for their own coaching is radically different to coaching someone who is sponsored, i.e. the company pays. At first sight, this seems to be just be about who foots the bill, but it’s way more complicated. Suddenly there are many ‘chefs in the kitchen’. In this episode, I share what’s different when you move from coaching an individual to coaching a corporate client.
This episode addresses a number of important potential differences:
The motivation of the coachee/client
the number and type of stakeholders to the coaching engagement
confidentiality is a given in 1-1’s and a crucial discussion point in corporate engagements
the coaching goal: who chooses it and what type of goal!
the results of coaching are lot more driven towards behaviors in corporate coaching.
Once you take these factors into account, we have a much more realistic idea about what is commonly expected when coaching in a corporate setting!
