EP 54: Keep it confidential! (Part 1 on ethical coaching)
In this episode, we discuss ethical challenges coaches might face, specifically regarding confidentiality and how to handle situations with HR or the coachee's boss.

Today’s episode is the first in a small series of about the ethical challenges a coach might face. We anchor the episode in a scenario that is not as unlikely as you think: you coach someone in your organisation on a voluntary basis and at some point, the client’s boss and/or HR shows up, asking for a status and progress about the coaching and whether the coachee has improved. What will you do in this case?
As you can already tell, this episode focuses on the ethical challenges around confidentiality. We explore some facets of it and share a few thoughts around the use case and what could have been done to prevent such a dilemma in the first place.
