Back to Lightbulb Moments

Take the "I" out of our questions!

Make conversations impactful by removing "I" from questions to connect.

February 9, 2025

Want to make your conversations more impactful? Try this: Take the "I," "me," "my," or "mine" out of your questions!

It's a subtle shift that transforms conversations from being about you to being about the other person, fostering genuine curiosity and stronger connections.

Instead of: "Tell me more about the confidence you want to build."

Try: "What kind of confidence do you want to build?"

See the difference?

Here's another example:

Instead of: "I am curious what you mean when you say you would talk to her?"

Try: "What do you mean when you say you would talk to her?"

It's about showing pure curiosity about the other person!

Experiment with keeping your questions 'clean'!

💡 The Lightbulb Moment

Make your questions about them, not you. This week, I challenge you to try this technique. Pay attention to how it changes the dynamic and tone!
