How to complain productively!
Explore the Hidden Brain podcast's episode on "How to complain productively," showcasing professional coaching skills that reframe complaints, empowering individuals to take action and shift from victims to actors.

What I loved about this episode was how it gave a lot of great examples of professional-level coaching skills at play. For example, Mike Baer shares how he reframed a complaint from a colleague about a research paper, helping him to see the bigger picture and ultimately making the revision better. Reframing is a key method that coaches use to help clients get themselves ‘unstuck’.
Furthermore, when we complain, we also often feel like we’re being proactive, like we’re doing something to address a problem. But too often, we’re just venting and not actually taking action to fix the situation. If someone instead gently (or not so gently) pushes us to think what’s in our own control, what we can do, we turn from victim to actor.
